Sports betting data startup OddsBlaze has raised a six-figure seed investment from Paris Smith and Life Winning, the company has shared exclusively with BettingStartups. The capital will be put toward product expansion and building out the odds infrastructure it sells to sportsbooks, betting apps, and prediction markets.
OddsBlaze runs a developer-focused API that delivers real-time odds pulled from sportsbooks and prediction markets, alongside historical data, low-latency push feeds, and same-game parlay pricing. The pitch is a familiar build-versus-buy one: operators either stand up their own odds-ingestion pipelines, which are costly to build and maintain, or license a feed and wire their pricing, trading, and risk systems into it. In a market where stale numbers translate directly into mispriced bets and arbitrage exposure, latency and breadth of coverage are what buyers evaluate first.
Founder Matthew Paulton credits the company's early traction to getting those fundamentals right. "I think a lot of our early success has come from focusing on what developers and betting companies actually need: fast, reliable data, broad coverage, affordable pricing, and an API that's easy to work with," he said, pointing also to a habit of moving quickly on customer requests for new sportsbooks and markets.
Paulton has run this play before. He previously founded Cheap Data Feeds, which became the original data infrastructure behind OddsJam—the consumer-tools business Gambling.com Group acquired last year in a deal worth up to $160M. "Having spent about seven years in the industry, I gained a much clearer understanding of what customers actually need and where there was still room to improve," Paulton said, adding that the experience let OddsBlaze "build faster, more scalable infrastructure from the ground up."
The operation itself is lean. Paulton runs the business largely on his own, with a handful of contract developers, and has crossed six-figure monthly recurring revenue less than a year after launch. OddsBlaze was also one of five finalists at this year's SBC Summit Americas First Pitch competition in Fort Lauderdale—a field that skewed toward data and operator tooling over consumer apps, tracking where B2B gaming investment has been heading.
One of those First Pitch judges was Smith, who tells BettingStartups she came away impressed with Paulton’s story. “OddsBlaze is operating in an extremely competitive category with downward pricing pressure. The fact that it’s seen the traction it has less than a year after launching signals the quality of the product. I’m excited to support Matt and OddsBlaze as they continue their impressive journey.”
Where OddsBlaze goes next is tied to who needs pricing. "We're seeing a lot of growth coming from prediction markets, particularly market makers that need fast, reliable odds data to price markets in real time," Paulton said. On the enterprise side, he pointed to "increasing demand for alternative data providers, as the industry has historically been dominated by one primary supplier.”
